The Price of Love
The Price of Love
Grief never ends, But it changes.
It’s a passage, Not a place to stay
The sense of loss Must give way,
If we’re to value The life that was lived.
Grief is not a sign of weakness,
Nor a lack of faith,
It is the price of love.

IF Tomorrow Starts Without Me
If Tomorrow Starts Without Me
"If tomorrow starts without me, And I'm not there to see, If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things, We didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, As much as I love you, And each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But as I turne d to walk away, A tear fell from my eye, For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for, So much left yet to do, it seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad, I thought of all that we shared, And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while, I'd say good-bye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized, That this could never be, For emptiness and memories, would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss some tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity, And all I've promised you." Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow, But today will always last, and since each day is the same way, There's no longing for the past.
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, For every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart "

My First Christmas In Heaven
My first Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below, With tiny lights, like heaven’s stars, reflecting in the snow.
The sight is so spectacular! Please wipe away that tear, For I am spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear But the sounds of music can’t compare With the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, The joy their voices bring, For it is beyond description to Hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me I see the pain inside your heart, But I am not so far away We really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear, And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus this year.
I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above. I send you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, “Love is the gift, more precious that pure gold”. It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do
For I can’t count the blessing or love he has for you.
So, Have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

Our Angel
Jennifer gave me (her sister) a tape of Celine Dion at Christmas about 3 years ago and on the front of the tape she had a sticker that said "Dana Play this tape on side two; this song reminds me of you and how you've been there for me. You are my angel". I recently found this tape again and I listened to the song and I cried; then I really listened to the song and found that it is actually Jennifer talking to me. Jennifer is my angel in Heaven and the words to this song are her talking to me.
I'M YOUR ANGEL (Celine Dion)
No Mountains too high, for you to climb All you have to do is have some climbing faith, oh yeah No rivers too wide, for you to make it across All you have to do is believe it when you pray
And then you will see, the morning will come And everyday will be bright as the sun All of your fears cast them on me I just want you to see...
I'll be your cloud up in the sky I'll be your shoulder when you cry I'll hear your voices when you call me I am your angel And when all hope is gone, I'm here No matter how far you are, I'm near It makes no difference who you are I am your angel I'm your angel
I saw the teardrops, and I heard you cry All you need is time, seek me and you shall find You have everything and you're still lonely It doesn't have to be this way, let me show you a better day
And then you will see, the morning will come And all of your days will be bright as the sun So all of your fears, just cast them on me How can I make you see...
I'll be your cloud up in the sky I'll be your shoulder when you cry I'll hear your voices when you call me I am your angel And when all hope is gone, I'm here No matter how far you are, I'm near It makes no difference who you are I am your angel I'm your angel
And when it's time to face the storm I'll be right by your side Grace will keep up safe and warm And I know we will survive
And when it seems as if your end is drawing near Don't you dare give up the fight Just put your trust beyond the sky...
I'll be your cloud up in the sky I'll be your shoulder when you cry I'll hear your voices when you call me I am your angel And when all hope is gone, I'm here No matter how far you are, I'm near It makes no difference who you are I am your angel I'm your angel
I'll be your cloud up in the sky I'll be your shoulder when you cry I'll hear your voices when you call me I am your angel And when all hope is gone, I'm here No matter how far you are, I'm near It makes no difference who you are I am your angel I'm your angel

"Without You" Written by Jennifer Dee Hester
Stephanie’s Song Dedicated to Uncle Bo, Aunt June and Matty “Without You” Written by Jennifer Hester
“Well, I’ve sure enjoyed the rain, but I’m looking forward to the sun. We have to endure the pain, Of losing our most precious one.
I thought by now that time Could take away theses lonely tears, We know your doing fine up there, But where do we go from here?”
Chorus: “Without you we’re not okay.” “Without you we grieve each day.” Our hearts are stuck in second place too, “Without You.”
“Well, I never thought I’d see, see him standing here without his baby.” “It seems unreal to me, that he’s left with just your memories.” “We have you as our angel looking over our family.” “Guess God had a special plan for you, but what about me?”
Chorus: “Without you we’re not okay.” “Without you we grieve each day.” “Our hearts are stuck in second place too.” “Without You.”
“There’s not a day that goes by, that there’s not a tear in your daddy’s eyes.” “Our whole family cries, where was our chance to say goodbye?”
“You had a special spirit that everyone in the world could see.”
“We miss your laughter and your smile, WE LOVE YOU Stephanie!”
Chorus again:
“Baby Girl, without you…..Oh, We love you.”

Jennifer's Own thoughts on Nursing
Below you will find a paper Jennifer wrote while in her 3rd Semester of Nursing school:
The Three Most Important Words for Nursing Students
By
Jennifer Hester
There are many words that can describe nursing school; hard, challenging, strenuous, hectic, and the list goes on and on. When describing a nursing student the three most important attributes they need to have is the ability to perform, the motivation to complete a task, and the attitude to perform to the best of their ability because they want to give good care. These three words are what nursing school is all about.
I began first semester unsure of my abilities to be a good and knowledgeable nurse. Ability is defined as what you are capable of doing. Although I knew I wanted to give quality care to patients, I was not completely sure I was capable. After I began nursing school I found that a person determines what they are capable of doing. During classes I began to gain more knowledge which helped in my abilities to assess, perform skills and provide interventions when necessary. Each semester I have become more confident in my ability to be a professional nurse. My ability has grown as I have grown throughout nursing school.
In addition to ability, motivation is a key factor to students in nursing school. If a student is not motivated to complete the tasks they are assigned then it does not matter about their ability because motivation is what determines what you do. There have been times throughout nursing school it has became a challenge for me to stay motivated. Everyone has the “burn out” stage, but all it takes for me to become motivated once again is to picture myself receiving my certification as a registered nurse and I am ready for whatever is thrown at me.
Ability and motivation are both necessary to achieve what you want, not only in nursing school, but in life. However, a good attitude is the most important attribute a student needs to have because it determines how well you perform. A positive attitude goes along way in school. Negativity reflects in everything you do like skills, assessments, homework and tests. Most patients will say they like a nurse who has the ability to take care of them and the motivation, but the main attribute they notice is their nurse’s attitude. Attitude can make a huge difference in the whether or not a patient is receptive to treatment. It is just like the saying,” Attitude goes a long way”.
Ability, motivation and attitude are three words any nursing student will become very familiar with. Now that I am in third semester of nursing school, I am very confident in my abilities, I am motivated to finish and my attitude towards nursing has never changed. I am going to be the best nurse and advocate I can be for my patient and that is what a nurse should be.

Jennifer's Son
Jennifer's true legacy is her son, Mason. Even though he only had her a short time you can see her in him today. He is theatrical and dramatic just like his "mommy". He has some of her facial expressions and off the wall comments. He is so funny, everyone has to laugh. He is definitely a "carbon copy" of her. Jennifer's goal in life changed when Mason was born. She made it her destiny to care for him, make him happy, and make sure he recieved everything he needed. She constantly talked about him. He was her life. Mason loves his mommy and continues to ask about her. He sees her pictures all around him and his nana even made him a photo album that he looks at. He sees Jennifer. There are times that he talks to her, hugs her and kisses her.

Jennifer and Music
Jennifer's love was music. She wanted to sing and dance and perform in some way. She loved the attention but yet enjoyed the smiles on people's faces more than the attention. She always knew how to uplift anyone in her presence. Her favorite songs to sing as a little girl were "Grandpa" and "Swinging". She also loved Dan Seal's song "Baby's got her bluejeans on". She not only sang these songs but she always put on a show. She was very dramatic and theatrical and once she got started noone could resist watching her. One of the most memorable moments of her singing was when we were little and she sang "All the Gold in California" for 3 days in the van while our family traveled to California for a vacation. Jennifer did not know all the words so she continually sang the chorus over and over. Jennifer was only 3 years old but her talent shined through then. In October 2004, Jennifer began writing a song. It was a song that poured from her heart the feelings she had regarding our cousins tragic death earlier this year. The song was heartfelt and made anyone that listened to it cry! She had the words written up on beautiful paper and placed them in a frame. She then sang the song with Dad playing the guitar for Uncle Bo, Aunt June and Cousin Matthew for Xmas 2004. She gave the framed words to Uncle Bo, June and Matt. I will post the words of the song later on this website. Stay tuned.

Jennifer's Qualities
Jennifer was always different from everyone else. She was hardheaded but at the same point she had more compassion than anyone I knew. She always knew how to make people laugh, especially at family gatherings. She would also find the "spirit" of each gathering and add her own "cheerfulness" to each one.
I remember Jennifer talking to me a few years ago about going to school to get some kind of degree and she had thought about nursing. Her statement was "I dont know if I can give shots, but I know I can take care of people" "That is what I need to do". Jennifer always took care of others before herself. I told Jennifer that if she wanted I would go to school with her and she was fine with this. We both went to college together to get our basics done and she started the program one semester after I did. (I had to be in another program from her because I was an LVN). I hated that, I wanted us to go to school together but we both did fine. I remember many times we laughed and joked about some the stories that we told and even grossed mom out with some things that we had experienced. I noticed one time how Jennifer was glowing when she talked about how much she loved nursing and what all she had learned. She truly was destined to be a nurse. Her entire life she seemed to be a magnet for people that were takers, lonely, unable to cope, needy, and very dependent. Jennifer always seen the good in people no matter what the circumstance.
